Filminfo:  Über 5.000 Red Power Kämpfer haben sich im Standing Rock Camp niedergelassen, um solidarisch zu sein und Stammesgräberstätten vor dem Bau der Dakota Access Pipeline zu schützen. RED POWER befasst sich mit der Entwicklung der Red Power Bewegung, verfolgt die letzten Schlachten und schreibt sie neu. Die modernen und neuen Kämpfer kämpfen in Standing Rock gegen den Bau der Dakota Access Pipeline, einer Pipeline mit hoher Umweltbelastung um die Vereinigten Staaten von Norden nach Süden zu schneiden.

Kanahus Manuel

Kanahus Manuel is an Indigenous warrior from the Secwepemc Nation in western Canada. She is a member of the Secwepemc Women's Warrior Society, a mother of four,  a traditional Secwepemc birthkeeper and handpoke tattoo artist.  Kanahus is a leader of the Tiny House Warriors, a grassroots group resisting Kinder Morgan's massive new pipeline by building 10 tiny homes in its path through her people's unceded territory. Kanahus is a prominent Indigenous Land Defender who has present at Standing Rock and has a long history of peaceful resistance against extractive Industries exploitation of Indigenous land.

 

Cedar George Parker

Cedar George-Parker is a youth activist from the Tulalip Indian Band and Tsleil-Waututh Nation in Coast Salish Territory. He is employed by the Four World International Institute as the Director of Youth Development where his primary goal is youth engagement and climate solutions. Just 20 years old, Cedar is a rising voice in the Indigenous resistance movement against Kinder Morgan's Trans Mountain Expansion pipeline. He recently visited Aborigines in New Zealand and stood with the Sioux Nation in Standing Rock. Cedar has also spoken at the United Nations in New York and met with the Canadian government in Ottawa.
